Applanix POS MV OceanMaster

The Preferred Georeferencing and Motion Compensation Solution for Hydrographic Professionals

Product Overview

The Applanix POS MV OceanMaster is a high-performance, turnkey GNSS-aided Inertial Navigation System (INS) designed to deliver industry-leading attitude, heading, heave, position, and velocity data. Positioned between the WaveMaster II and the Elite models, the OceanMaster is specifically engineered for offshore survey operations in increasingly difficult conditions where superior motion compensation is critical for maintaining IHO-standard survey data.

The system utilizes Applanix’s advanced IN-Fusion™ 2.0 technology to blend GNSS data with high-rate inertial observables. By incorporating a high-grade Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and the GNSS Azimuth Measurement System (GAMS), the OceanMaster ensures a robust six-degree-of-freedom solution, enabling multibeam sonar systems to operate effectively at swath widths greater than ±75° even in heavy sea states.

Why Choose the Applanix POS MV OceanMaster?

  • Exceptional 0.01° Accuracy: Delivers a roll and pitch accuracy of 0.01°, providing the ultra-tight motion compensation required for deep-water bathymetry and high-resolution seafloor mapping.
  • IN-Fusion™ 2.0 Technology: Ensures optimal GNSS aiding under any given condition, providing almost instantaneous reacquisition of RTK following signal loss—essential for surveying near large structures or offshore platforms.
  • TrueHeave™ Performance: Includes Applanix’s proprietary TrueHeave™ software, which provides high-accuracy heave measurements with no settling time and no requirement to tune filters for specific swell conditions.
  • High-Accuracy GAMS Heading: The GNSS Azimuth Measurement System (GAMS) provides heading accuracy (down to 0.01°) that is independent of latitude and unaffected by magnetic interference, ensuring a stable reference worldwide.
  • Maximizes Multibeam ROI: Specifically designed to work with all major multibeam sonar systems, ensuring that the motion sensor is never the limiting factor in your data quality.
