Portable Acoustic Tracking for Shallow to Medium Depths

Product Overview The Exail Gaps M5 is the compact, cost-effective sibling to the Gaps M7. It is specifically designed for high-accuracy tracking in ultra-shallow to medium water depths. While it retains the iconic 3D acoustic design of the Gaps series, the M5 is optimized for portability and ease of international transport, being completely export-free (no dual-use license required for most regions).

Like the M7, the Gaps M5 is an "all-in-one" system that integrates an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) based on Fiber-Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology. This internal integration means the system is factory-calibrated and requires no on-site alignment, making it perfect for rapid deployment from small boats, USVs, or instrumented buoys.

  • True Calibration-Free Operation: The embedded FOG-based AHRS (Octans Nano) is pre-aligned with the acoustic array. Simply mount the pole, and you are ready to track.
  • Compact & Lightweight: At only 14 kg, it is significantly easier to handle than the M7, making it the preferred choice for small-vessel operations and shallow-water surveys.
  • Positioning & Communication: Functions as both a high-precision tracker and a robust acoustic modem for bi-directional telemetry with subsea assets.
