The Industry Standard for High-Resolution Sub-Bottom Profiling
Product Overview The Applied Acoustic Engineering (AAE) AA251 and AA301 are electrodynamic boomer plates designed to produce sharp, repeatable acoustic pulses for high-resolution geophysical surveys. These "impulsive" sound sources are the preferred choice for mapping shallow stratigraphy, sediment thickness, and bedrock profiles where vertical resolution is more critical than raw penetration.
Utilizing a spring-loaded metal plate and an internal induction coil, these boomers generate a single, clean pulse with minimal reverberation. The AA251 is the compact "Inshore" specialist, while the AA301 is the larger "Nearshore" model, offering increased power and deeper penetration for more demanding geological environments.
