Product Overview

The Innomar compact is the most streamlined and portable member of the Innomar parametric family. Specifically engineered for inshore surveys in shallow-water environments—from 0.5m down to 400m—it offers the perfect balance of size, weight, and acoustic power.

Unlike the Innomar light (which has an integrated PC), the compact model uses an external laptop for control, making the topside unit significantly lighter (15kg) and easier to transport. Utilizing Innomar's signature non-linear parametric technology, this system provides exceptionally clean, narrow-beam data without the side-lobe interference common in traditional systems. It is the industry standard for rapid mobilization on vessels of opportunity and small survey craft.

Data Acquisition


  • Digital, 2 channels (LF and HF, “RAW” format)
  • Sample rate c. 70 kHz @ 16 bit; resolution <2 cm
  • LF sub-bottom data: raw (full-waveform)
  • HF data: processed (envelope)
  • Parametric Advantage: Generates a low-frequency beam (4–15 kHz) within the water column, resulting in high bandwidth and ultra-short pulses for sub-decimeter resolution.
  • Multi-Ping Mode: Automatically maintains a high pulse rate (up to 40 Hz) in deeper waters to ensure high data density even at higher vessel speeds.
  • Full-Waveform Recording: Captures 24-bit raw data in the SES3 format, providing the highest dynamic range for advanced post-processing.
  • Sidescan Extension Available: An optional 100 kHz sidescan sonar can be integrated, providing simultaneous sub-bottom and seafloor imagery.
  • Heave Compensation: Easily integrates with external motion sensors to provide stable, corrected data in choppy inshore waters.
  • Multi-Frequency Capability: User-selectable frequencies (4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 kHz) allow you to optimize the system for either maximum resolution or maximum penetration.
