Edgetech 2300: Combined Side Scan Sonar, Bathymetry & Sub-bottom System

The 2300 system from EdgeTech combines their renowned line of side scan sonars, sub-bottom profilers, and, in the case of the 2300B model, MPES bathymetry, into a single integrated solution.

This system represents a significant advancement in deep-water sonar operations, offering enhancements over traditional setups. Leveraging EdgeTech's proven Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology, surveyors can opt to operate any two frequencies simultaneously from the tri-frequency system, resulting in crisp, high-resolution imagery.

The sub-bottom profiler capabilities of the 2300 have been expanded to accommodate up to four low-frequency transducers, such as EdgeTech’s DW-106 (1-10kHz) deep penetration system. Additionally, the system utilizes a large PVDF hydrophone array, enhancing sub-bottom receive sensitivity and directivity.

For bathymetry applications, the 2300B model includes EdgeTech’s MPES bathymetry, which generates real-time, high-resolution, three-dimensional maps of the seafloor while providing co-registered simultaneous dual-frequency side scan imagery.

Other notable features of the 2300 system include a remote head USBL beacon, optional Nexus Multiplexer, a rear magnetometer shackle mount, and adjustable trim panels, enhancing versatility and functionality in various marine surveying operations.
