Product Overview 

The AAE Dura-Spark L200 is a professional-grade, lightweight seismic sparker designed by Applied Acoustic Engineering (AAE). It serves as a versatile, stable sound source for high-resolution sub-bottom profiling in environments ranging from shallow rivers and canals to offshore depths exceeding 1,000 meters.

Engineered for efficiency, the L200 features two independent banks of 100 tips (200 tips total). This dual-bank architecture allows the operator to tune the acoustic pulse—balancing penetration and resolution—directly from the survey vessel. Its compact catamaran frame makes it ideal for rapid mobilization on small vessels of opportunity where deck space and lifting capacity are limited.

  • High-Resolution Data: Capable of delivering vertical resolution up to 25 cm, making it the premier choice for identifying thin sediment layers, buried pipelines, and archaeological artifacts.
  • Tuning Flexibility: Operators can select between 100-tip or 200-tip modes. Firing 200 tips at lower energy (<3J per tip) minimizes the bubble collapse component for ultra-clean, high-resolution imaging.
  • Compact Catamaran Platform: The lightweight (47kg) frame is highly stable and easy to deploy/recover by a single person, specifically designed for coastal and inland water operations.
