Edgetech 2050: Combined Side Scan Sonar & Sub-bottom Profiler

The EdgeTech 2050-DSS represents the latest integration of EdgeTech's renowned side scan sonars and sub-bottom profilers into a single, fully integrated system. This innovation is particularly beneficial for scenarios requiring high-resolution sub-bottom profiler data, necessitating the system to be towed close to the seabed.

Operating as a tri-frequency side scan sonar system, the 2050-DSS allows operators to simultaneously utilize any two selectable frequencies. Two towfish options are available: one featuring 120, 410 & 850 kHz frequencies, and the other offering 230, 540 & 850 kHz frequencies. Both towfish configurations include a 2-16 kHz sub-bottom profiler with a PVDF panel receive hydrophone, enhancing beam patterns and signal-to-noise ratios for cleaner data.

Standard features include a combined towfish, digital telemetry via a single coaxial cable, a 19-inch rack mount topside interface, and EdgeTech's DISCOVER acquisition software. Moreover, the 2000 Series System supports integration with various auxiliary sensors like magnetometers, depth sensors, altitude sensors, and USBL responders. An interface is also provided for mounting the electronics and sensors onto remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
